Can anyone tell me the best way to get from JFK Airport to Park Central New York Hotel.?
Will be arriving at 7:00 am and need to get to the Hotel then to the US Open. Any suggestions?
Well, the best way to get from JFK to the Park Central Hotel is by public transit. The hotel, which is located at 870 7th Avenue (between 55th and 56th Streets), is a short walk from the 57th Street subway station on the “N”, “R”, “Q” and “W” lines (Yellow Line on the subway map). Here’s how to get to the hotel from JFK.
Step 1: take the Airtrain from the terminal to Jamaica Station. Please listen for the announcement “Station D: Jamaica Station.”
Step 2: at Jamaica Station, purchase a $7.25 MetroCard from the MetroCard Vending Machine, and exit the Airtrain system into Jamaica Station. A $5 fare will be deducted from your MetroCard, when exiting the Airtrain system at Jamaica Station. The remaining $2.25 will use for the subway.
Step 3: Once thought turnstile (faregate), follow the directional signs to the New York City subway. Upon entering the subway, take the Manhattan-bound (westbound) “E” line (Blue Line) from Sutphin Blvd-JFK/Jamaica Station to Queens Plaza. The “E” line runs express on its way to and from Manhattan.
Step 4: at Queens Plaza, transfer across the platform to the “R” line (Yellow Line). Take the Manhattan-bound (westbound) “R” line train from Queens Plaza to 57th Street.
Step 5: at 57th Street, exit the subway onto Seventh Avenue and walk a block and half south along Seventh Avenue from 57th Street to 56th Street. The hotel is located on the west side (right hand side) of 7th Avenue.
In regards to the trip to the US Open at the National Tennis Center, here’s how to get from the hotel to the Open.
Step 1: walk a block and a half north along Seventh Avenue, from the hotel to the 57th Street subway station.
Step 2: at the 57th Street, take the Queens-bound (eastbound) “N” or “W” lines (Yellow Line) from there to Queensboro Plaza.
Step 3: at Queensboro Plaza, transfer across the platform to the #7 subway line, which will take you from Queensboro Plaza to Mets-Willest Point (formerly Willest Point-Shea Stadium).
The National Tennis Center, is located inside Flushing Meadow-Corona Park, a short walk from the Mets-Willest Point subway station. Just follow the tennis fan to the venue.
