Can I find a Studio Apartment in New York (Manhatten) for 800 Dollars a month (read)?

I mean in Chinatown or Upper West Side
I mean the cheaper areas (but not Harlem)

no way...maybe a room in a flophouse, if you don't mind bunking with crackheads and prostitutes.

think of all the entertainment though.

A better route is to try to find a small place with 1-2 room mates, and you might find something aorund $800-1,000 each
