How Good is Four Points By Sheraton Hotel in Niagra Falls?

im going to niagra falls soon and im staying at the four points by sheraton in niagra falls, new york. its only a three star hotel so i was wondering what the qualities of the guest room amenities. im staying in a 2 queen bed room by the way.

On Trip Advisor (a hotel review website) it's ranked as the 9th most popular hotel out of the 38 hotels in Niagara Falls, NY. The reviews look ok but it seems like there has been some unhappy people.

New York City trip estmate?

My mom, her friend, my friend, and I are discussing going on a trip to NYC in the fall.

We don't want to stay in a crap hotel, but it can't be elaborate. Maximum is $140 a night.

We want to see Central Park, Fifth Avenue, Times Square, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Metropolitan Museum, Museum of Modern Art, the Plaza Hotel (just visit), FAO Schwarz, Coney Island, and possibly a Broadway show.

We would be riding around by the subway system and taxis.

We would also be eating out a lot and doing a lot of shopping.

Can anyone possibly give me a trip estimate?
Thanks for any help!!
We would be staying for about a week and a half.
and its about $140 for each of us to pitch in for a room.
So the room's max would be around $500 a night.

Try Hotel 17 ,they were cheap when I went about a year ago nice rooms shared bathrooms but the location was excellent just around the corner was a little cafe/dinner that the locals used (all ways a good sign)and then one block further a subway station.
BTW if you are looking at a Broadway show go to the Discount ticket booth at the Marriott on Times square to get tickets for that nights performances at about half price.
as regards money depends how much you have hear are some money saving tips .
1.Take the Staten island ferry ,It's free, yes free and it goes right past the Statue of Liberty .
2. Go to Century 21 it's a department store near Ground zero,Designer gear and fantastic prices ,there are some times street hawkers outside selling copies for the same price as you can get the real thing inside .
3.Go to the Natural History Museum ,They give you a suggested entry price and then you pay what you want to pay ($1 each is OK)
4.Use the subway $2 per journey each if you miss your stop you can get on another train and go back with out paying any extra, the map seems complicated at first but it's not that bad.
5.Don't buy your souvenirs from the actual places get them from the shops in Little China or from the Hells Kitchen area where they are more reasonably priced.
6.Eat where the locals eat .
7. Do either Rockefeller or the empire state ,not both

5 Star Hotel New York City

A marketing plan focuses on the four Ps (Product, Promotion, Price and Place), but doesn't neglect customer retention and key partnerships. Hotel Deals New York City December All of these elements should be specific to your hotel's intended customers and the geographic area.

1) Product - Your hotel's services

For every hotel, the basic product offered is the same service - use of a bed for a night. Beyond this similarity, there are endless ways to differentiate your service. Services can include entertainment (i.e., in-room cable, on-premises nightclub), food (i.e., chocolates on a pillow to a five-star restaurant), communication (i.e., free local calls, wireless internet), and health (i.e., a pool, fitness center, spa). Consider whether unusual services will be a draw for your customers or if you are better off providing the tried and true. Whatever you choose, present the information clearly and in just enough detail so that readers understand the level and type of service provided.

2) Promotion - How to get the word out

Promotion is how you make your people aware of your hotel and its unique value proposition and convert them into guests. The promotional tools you use depends entirely on the customers you seek. Rather than thinking about how other hotels seek customers, think from the customer's point of view. How do your desired customers seek hotels? Make sure yours can be found where they are looking, whether this is in travel books, magazines, websites, or elsewhere. Remember that the most powerful type of advertising is the kind that money cannot buy - press. Consider whether a public relations strategy can help make this happen.

3) Price - The right rates for your hotel

Best">http://www.besthostfinder.info">Best Hotel Finder Click here

Your marketing plan must show where you want your pricing to fall within the market's range. The choice of price ties directly to your hotel's profitability, but also to the brand you are trying to build in the minds of customers. If you bill your hotel as extremely upscale, but price it in the middle of the pack, customers may not believe your assertions that you are the next Ritz-Carlton. Pricing is about finding the right price to both represent what your hotel is and to cover costs, leaving room for profit.

4) Place - Where customers and your services meet

Place is more than the choice of location for your hotel. "Place" in this context means distribution, and this is the choice of how customers will book hotel rooms and receive other services you provide. This can be through websites, travel agents, or a dedicated sales staff, each of which have their own cost and benefit tradeoffs. Distribution of services continues inside your hotel and involves both your staff and your means to communicate with your guests (i.e., phone systems, TV ordering, even doorknob signs).

5) Customer Retention

Most of the cost of providing service to a customer is in getting them to buy for the first time. To keep a customer returning should be significantly cheaper than getting a new one so explain your retention strategy. For example, loyalty programs provide incentives for repeat visits and customer relationship management (CRM) software can save data on the preferences and activity of individual guests to make returning more enjoyable for them.

6) Partnerships

Finally, consider how you will work with your hotel's neighbors, local government, and other stakeholders to build business. There may be potential for you to either get guests from or send guests to many local businesses, improving the experience the overall experience for those customers. Consider mentioning a few key partnerships that will pay off because of their importance to both parties. Don't stretch yourself too think by proposing to partner with every business on your street. Describe any successful legwork you have done to inquire about the possibility of making those partnerships a reality.

If you want to go to NYC for a week... what should we do?

My family.. me, 15/f fashion obsessed... shopping obsessed.. sews... likes broadway... that side of NYC.. will also go to museums and sights..
my mom, late 40's.. likes shopping... LOVES sewing and designing... also likes museums and sights but nothing that requires extreme physical exertion (walking long distances is ok)
my dad, late 40's, likes museums.. loves history... and sights... doesn't mind shopping.. likes to do things alone

we are thinking of going to new york city for a week.
1.WHAT ARE SOME GOOD STORES TO GO TO THAT YOU CAN'T FIND IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD MALL??? (ex. nieman's, bergdorfs, any boutiques.. anything!!)
2. What sights would be cool to see?
3. What are some intersting things to do? Places to tour? Places to go? Things to do?
4. Where are good outlets for designer stuff or just good outlets in the city?
5. What's a good (maybe 3-4 star) hotel that doesn't cost a lot?
We want an awesome expierience...
What should be on our new york checklist? <33

I've lived in NYC my whole life, i'm 22 years old and I can definitly help you out.

Obviously the first place that comes to mind is Times Square. Just a note about Times Square is that 80% of the people who go to Times Square are tourists so this area is very different from the rest of the city (bright neon signs, novelty shops, etc). You should defenitly check it out though. The toys-r-us there has a fun HUGE ferris wheel inside the store that you can ride. MTV studios is also in times square, however they dont have tours. I highly recomend Madame Tussauds wax museum! So fun.

Other museums to check out:
FIT's Fashion Museum (It includes designers like Armani, Balenciaga, Beene, Blass, Chanel, Dior, Galanos, Gaultier, Halston, James, McCardell, Miyake, Moschino, Poiret, and Schiaparell)
Natural History Museum (check out the planetarium... its really amaizing)
Metropoliton Museum of Art

Check out the Empire State building, it has a really great view of the whole city from the top.

Rockerfeller Center is a good place to visit, lots of shopping available plus they have a cute (and famous) ice skating rink thats open until april.

F.A.O. Schwarz, the famous huge toy store on 5th avenue

Central Park, weather permitting... this park is huge and is really nice to visit. You can rowboat in the lake. They also have daily free walking tours year round.

South Street Seaport. I've been really wanting to check out "Bodies, The Exhibition" which displays the inner workings of our bodies through authentic, preserved human body specimens... if you're into that kind of thing. They also have a lot of shopping here plus some specialty shops with 'sea items' like real shells, sea glass, sea sponges etc. If i remember correctly they also give tours of some of the historic sailing ships.

Since you like to shop, you can check out Saks Fifth Avenue, a huge department store with designer goods. Also check out broadway between 14th street and canal street, very cool boutiques line those streets and too many to name.

Weather permiting, check out the famous Coney Island in Brooklyn which hosts a small amusement park and beach.

Ah, i haven't stayed in a hotel here but i hear the Hyatt is really really nice. For a good deal i suggest trying one of those sights like priceline.com.

And for discounted designer aparel check out http://www.nycvisit.com/content/index.cfm?pagePkey=1253, at the bottom of the page they list a few locations to find such.

hey i hope this helps!
one last tip... i strongly recomend you buying unlimited weekly Metrocards, they give you unlimmited access on buses and subways all day and night for 7 days.

links to places above are below, enjoy

Beacon Hotel New York

If you're looking for hotels near Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, you can find several wonderful choices right in the Fenway neighborhood. They range from simple and affordable to luxurious and pricey. I'm going to tell you about two of the best: an inexpensive but comfortable hotel with a view (from some rooms) of the Park, and a luxury hotel that ranks among Boston's finest. Both are places where you may want to stay whenever you're in Boston, whether or not you're in town to see the Red Sox play.

Hotel Buckminster (645 Beacon Street, Fenway, Boston) may be your top choice if you're looking for a hotel that's as close as possible to the ball park plus an equally short walk from all of the surrounding restaurants and bars near Fenway.  It's also one of the most affordable hotels in the entire city.  Built in 1897, Hotel Buckminster is a traditional "flat-iron," or triangular shaped building with an attractive rounded front.  Famed architect Stanford White designed it to be one of the first hotels in Boston.

Although the lobby may remind you a bit of your college dorm, the Buckminster's reception staff is friendly, welcoming. and helpful.  With only 70 rooms and 24 suites, the hotel is small and homey.  Rooms are comfortable and simply furnished.  Best of all, you can see Fenway's Green Monster from some of the rooms at the back.  And no wonder - the Park is only a block and a half away!   You'll find several casual restaurants on Beacon Street within a block of the Hotel Buckminster, and a popular karaoke-sushi spot is next door.

Hotel Commonwealth (500 Commonwealth Ave) is at the opposite end of the spectrum.  With 150 spacious rooms overlooking either Fenway Park or leafy park-like Commonwealth Avenue Mall, it's one of the city's top luxury hotels.  You'll find every luxurious touch imaginable in the Hotel Commonwealth...high quality imported linens, down comforters and pillows,  high definition TVs, CD/DVD players, complementary high-speed internet access and VOIP, plus a DVD lending library.

Even your dog will be welcome at this pet-friend hotel.  If you're in town for a Red Sox game, Fenway Park is only 2 short blocks away.  One of the Fenway neighborhood's top seafood restaurants, Great Bay, is located right in the hotel, and you'll find other excellent choices nearby.

Both the Hotel Buckminster and Hotel Commonwealth are near Boston University, some of the city's best museums and concert halls, and the Colleges of the Fens.  Shopping along swanky Newbury Street in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood is just a few blocks away.   Downtown Boston, Beacon Hill, and the historic Freedom Trail are also within walking distance, but with a subway, or "T" as it's called in Boston, stop nearby, you can easily ride to other parts of the city.  Whether you choose the affordable Buckminster or the luxurious Commonwealth, both of these popular hotels near Fenway Park are ideally located near many of Boston's most interesting areas.

Susan writes about favorite Boston hotels, attractions, restaurants, and fun things to do in http://www.Boston-Discovery-Guide.com, where you can find information about more hotels near Fenway Park.

Does anyone know if there is a central contact source for left luggage in a yellow cab in New York?

My daughter left a sleeping bag behind in a yellow cab October 2nd '06 in New York having just crossed the States with Trek America and jumped in a cab with two friends outside The Beacon Hotel to go to a cheap hostel. her friend thought she'd emptied the trunk but left the Karrrimor sleeping bag behind accidentally. Is there a central source to contact for left luggage in this kind of circumstance? Or does anyone know of an online contact board for yellow cab drivers in New York

NYC yellow cabs are run by several independent operators. There is no central place for lost and found. You could try calling all of the yellow cab companies, but I really doubt that it will still be there. Most likely, someone else has already taken it or its been thrown out. You should just get a new sleeping bag.
