Romantic Hotels New York

There isn't a person in this world who does not wish to have a romantic honeymoon. This only makes sense since a honeymoon is considered to be the ultimate romantic vacation when newlyweds get to spend there first real time alone together. The problem becomes which destination is the most romantic for the task at hand? The answer will depend on the couple and which location appeals most to them. Many will already know where they want to go, but for those who are still undecided here are some ideas to make your first real vacation together truly romantic.

The first though that crosses most people's minds is someplace tropical. Moonlit walks on the beach, days spent relaxing in the warm ocean breezes with drinks on hand, candlelight dinners with the gentle sounds of breaking waves in the background, and a whole world of romance at every turn. Tropical honeymoons are hard to beat.

The first tropical place most people consider is Hawaii. You can choose to island hop or just spend your time on one island, enjoying the warm blue ocean waters along miles of beach. The Hawaiian people go out of their way to make each and every honeymoon one to remember.

For a more exotic romantic honeymoon the islands of the South Pacific such as Fiji or Bora Bora take the romantic experience to a whole other level. These islands will truly make you and your spouse feel like you have these beautiful locations all to yourselves. They are in an out of the way corner of the Pacific Ocean that will make a honeymoon a truly relaxing and wonderful experience.

For those who want to save some money but still want to experience a tropical honeymoon then Mexico is the place to go. For those who want to get away from the crowds of Cancun and Acapulco the Mayan Riviera is the place to go. With a multitude of all inclusive resorts the Riviera is a great way to enjoy tropical beaches without breaking the bank.

For a more home grown honeymoon there are plenty of romantic places right here in the United States. The advantage of this is obvious; no need for passports and everyone speaks the language.

If the lure of the big city with lots of glitz and glamour is your thing then Las Vegas and New York offer plenty of both. Las Vegas offers year round entertainment opportunities seldom found in other locations. Gambling, an array of different shows that will fit the entertainment needs of just about everyone, and a multitude of large hotels to choose from it is hard to go wrong with a honeymoon in the desert.

New York City offers a wealth of entertainment opportunities as well with Broadway shows and the always exciting Times Square. There is also the opportunity to eat at some of the most famous and romantic restaurants in the world along with world class hotels that are sure to make any honeymoon truly romantic.

For those who are looking for a culturally historic honeymoon then a trip to the old country, Europe, fits the bill. England, France, Spain, and Italy all have romantic overtones and surrounding oneself in the history and culture of these countries can make for a truly romantic adventure. There is a language barrier but this can work to the newlyweds favor, giving them a sense of being alone in a strange and exotic land.

Finding a romantic honeymoon destination is easy, the hard part is deciding which destination to choose because any of these choices will leave you with romantic memories that will last you and your spouse a lifetime.

First time in Las Vegas? Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world - there's no other place like it. But if you've never been there before, you could end up missing the best Vegas has to offer or worse - spending more money than you'd planned.

If you're booking your first Las Vegas vacation, the following tips will save you time, money and frustration.

Vacation Tip #1: Book Your Vegas Package Early

Try to make your reservations and ticket purchases at least 21 days before your trip. Some fares require an advance purchase of 3, 7, 14, or 21 days, while others may require no advance purchase at all.

Also, many Las Vegas hotels give you a discount incentive for booking your vacation early. As more people book the hotel rooms, there are less spots available and prices can rise.

Vacation Tip #2: Bring High Quality Running Shoes

If you're going to be exploring the gorgeous hotels and various attractions on the Las Vegas strip - make sure you take high quality, well-fitting running shoes. Most of the surfaces you'll be walking on are either concrete or stone.

While it's lovely to stroll along the cobblestone streets of the Venetian or the Paris hotels - if you're in shoes that don't give you adequate cushioning you'll be in pain by the end of the day. And after 3 days, forget about it.

Vacation Tip #3: If It's Your First Time In Vegas Try To Stay On Or Near The Las Vegas Strip

The Las Vegas strip is the best place to be - especially if it's your first time in Las Vegas. Enjoy the fountains of the Bellagio, see the lion habitat at the MGM Grande, watch the pirate show at the Treasure Island, view the white tigers at the Mirage.

When you're on the Las Vegas strip most of the attractions and hotels are within walking distance so you don't need to rent a car. Staying at one of the hotels on the strip will ensure you see most of the main attractions in Vegas.

Some hotels on the Las Vegas strip are the Bellagio, MGM Grande, Mirage, Ceasar's Palace, Aladdin, Circus Circus, Treasure Island, Imperial Palace, Flamingo, New York New York, Bally's and the Paris Hotel.

Vacation Tip #4: Be Prepared To Eat

Las Vegas offers some of the BEST buffets and restaurants in the world. Two of the most popular buffets in Las Vegas are the Buffet at the Bellagio and the Spice Market Buffet at the Aladdin. They are a must try!

The buffets offer a huge selection (so everyone in the family is happy)at mid-priced rates (depending on where you go). The food quality is extremely high so forego your diet and enjoy! After all, you're on vacation.

Vacation Tip #5: You Don't Have To Spend A Bundle On Entertainment

While some of the shows in Las Vegas can be expensive, there are lots of things to do (especially with your family) that are low cost or absolutely free. Some freebies include:

Lion habitat at the MGM Grande

White tigers at the Mirage

Fountain display in front of the Bellagio

M&M's Store near New York, New York hotel (free M&M's movie)

Pirate Show at Treasure Island

Rain Storm at the Dessert Passage next to the Aladdin

Circus Acts at Circus Circus

Human Statues at the Venetian

Various specialty displays and gardens inside different hotels - depending on the time of year

And they're always adding more!

So those are 5 general tips for Vegas first-time vacationers. The can save you time, money and frustration (and hopefully sore feet). There's no other place like Las Vegas - it's like a giant playground for adults and kids. Regardless of what you choose to do, you'll never forget your first time in Vegas!

New York Vacation on low budget?

I am planning to go to New York city for spring break. I know it would be a little chilli but I'm from Chicago so shouldn't be a problem for me. now I need to know if it is better to get there on a plane or Amtrak? ( as being close to the public transportation) and anyone knows any hostel or cheap hotel? and lastly, what is the best way to travel arround? bus? train? or rental car?

There are three possible answers to this question.

1. Place to stay: New York City has thousands of hostels to choose from, everything from the YMCA/YWCA to ordinary hostels, some very well known. Two hostels that I know of are the American Youth Hostels, Inc, on the Upper West Side and the YMCA Vanderbilt Center in Midtown. I've included there web address at the bottom of this post, along with several other links to Hostels in Manhattan.

2. Transportation to and from New York: Since you're coming from The Windy City, my best bet will be take Amtrak into Penn Station, New York. They may have discounts for students.

Also Greyhound bus, which always offers discount to students serves New York City, with a stop at the Port Authority Bus Terminal.

Many low budget airlines travels between New York and Chicago, however they will land at airport far away from the city. You may want to try JetBlue, they have a hub in New York and JFK Airport. Check with them to see if they offer discounts to students.

3. Transportation while in New York: Since you going to be in New York there is no need to rent a car. NYC Transit, like Chicago's CTA, operates both the buses and subway systems. The fare on both the buses and subway are $2 a ride, but if you're in town for a week, you can buy a 7-days unlimited MetroCard, which is a fare card similar to the one in Chicago, for $24 and take as many rides as you want on the subway and bus.

I hope this information was very helpful. I need any travel direction while in town, just drop me a line at native.newyorker@hotmail.com.

Good luck and happy travels.

Vacation In New York City

There are hundreds of things to do in New York City. The Big Apple is perfect for families looking for fun, exciting and energy-filled activities for a vacation.

One thing you can do to start your summer vacation is to get a 360-degree bird's eye view of the five boroughs of New York City (Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island), its surrounding waters and the Statue of Liberty from the Empire State Building's Observatory. In addition, within the Empire State Building is an interesting ride that will definitely be a hit to kids of all ages - the New York Skyride, which provides a three dimensional virtual tour of the entire city.

Tours and cruises are best to join at the beginning part of your trip to New York City. They provide an overview of all the things to see and do that the city has to offer. The Liberty Cruise provides an interesting introduction of New York City with amazing views of the Manhattan skyline and Ellis Island. The cruise, of course, includes an up close look at the great American icon, the Statue of Liberty, that will sure give you a renewed sense of freedom.

If you are looking for something educational and interactive for your kids to do this summer, New York City has the world's best museums that you can take them to. The Children's Museum of Manhattan caters to the inquisitive minds of young children which houses exhibits that will challenge their creativity. The museum features themed displays, such as Nickelodeon's Dora The Explorer and Go Diego Go, to catch the little kids' attention and to entice them to participate in the activities. Older kids, however, will definitely enjoy roaming around old aircrafts, particularly those used in the second World War in the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum.

Summer means lots of outdoor activities. Hit any of the New York City beaches and join all sorts of fun things to do. You can take this opportunity to teach the little ones how to swim, build sandcastles with them and look for shells that you can add to your collection. The older kids can learn how to surf and join beach games such as frisbee, volleyball and tennis. Some of the beaches hold events and festivals that you can also check out with your family to feel the New York City vibe.

One of the best things to do to enjoy the nice summer weather is spend an afternoon in Central Park. It is a great opportunity to be close to nature in the middle of a busy city. You can have a quiet family time with a little picnic. Kids (and parents) can have fun with a carousel ride and inline skating. You can also visit the Central Park Zoo for some wildlife encounter - lions, zebras, penguins, polar bears and over a hundred more different species of animals.

New York City is a shopping mecca. Whether you are looking for clothes, shoes, accessories or toys, New York City has a store waiting for you. Your kids can express their creativity by making their personal stuffed animal at the Build-A-Bear Workshop. A visit at the FAO Schwartz will definitely make your kids go wild. It is the ultimate toy store any kid could ask for. You can find everything at FAO Schwartz - from the regular Barbie dolls and Transformers collectibles to kid-sized Mercedes 500SL.

Hotel accommodations are aplenty in New York City. There are even those that are particularly family-friendly. Among the best places for your family to stay is at the Hilton Times Square. Hiton Times Square's lobby has an entertainment complex that houses restaurants, retail stores, a movie theater and even a wax museum. Hilton Times Square prepares programs for children and also offers babysitting services. The best thing about the hotel is that it is located right in the middle of Times Square, giving you an easy access to all the fascinating summer things to do in New York City.

Near New York

Holiday accommodation in New York is nearly always of a high standard, just like the price that often goes with it. But for this maybe once in a lifetime visit to marvel at the Empire State, Statue of Liberty, or Central Park, it will most certainly be worth every penny.

New York City is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. It lies at the south-eastern tip of New York State, just above New Jersey. It is spread out over the islands and indentations of Long Island Sound and New York Bay. It is linked together by a series of famous tunnels and bridges, most famously Brooklyn Bridge which links Brooklyn to Manhattan.

Manhattan Island sits at the top of Upper New York Bay, and the Hudson River is to the west and the East River to the east. Manhattan Island is separated from the New York State by the Harlem River. Holiday accommodation here is always hard to find, especially at an affordable price, so the sooner you book the better

New York City covers an area of 320sq miles and is made up of the Five Boroughs. Manhattan is regarded as the heart of New York and is made familiar to visitors from all of the films that have been shot in this location. This is the home of skyscrapers, art galleries, museums and theatres. Central Park sits nearly slap bang in the centre of Manhattan, and it feels like you've entered another world when you step out from the hustle and bustle of times square and into the park.

Brooklyn is situated on the western edge of Long Island. It is famous for the Brooklyn Bridge which links it to Manhattan with a further two bridges spanning the East River. When crossing the Brooklyn your breath is taken away by the amazing views of Manhattan and the river below. Brooklyn is home to over two million people and is the most populated of the five boroughs. A must see tourist attraction is the Brooklyn Museum on East Parkway.

The Bronx is to the north and the only borough on the mainland. In the past it has had a rather bad reputation but is a rapidly improving area today. Not many people realize that it contains the Bronx Zoo and New York's Botanical Garden. It also, most famously is home to the New York Yankees, at Yankee Stadium , and no trip to New York is complete if you don't leave your holiday accommodation and catch a game for yourself.

Queens is an area neglected by many visitors who only briefly glimpse it as they make their transit from the John F Kennedy International Airport. Tennis lovers will know it better for the US Open Tennis which is held there annually at Flushing Meadows. Holiday accommodation here is very scarce if youre looking for a decent standard.

The smallest of all the boroughs is Staten Island with a population of around 400,000 people. Visitors usually take a ride on the world famous Staten Island Ferry which is extremely cheap and provides stunning views on its half hour journey, this ferry is a must to complete any visit to the 'Big Apple'.

While visiting New York most tourists take the opportunity to view the site of the World Trade Centre and quietly reflect on the horrors of 9/11, here you can remember the brave men and women who so tragically lost their lives. New York is home to the American Museum of Natural History, the magnificent home of millions of objects held in its collection.

Another moving experience is a trip to the Ellis Island Immigration Museum. This is where many hundreds of thousands of immigrants first set foot in the States and were processed here for their citizenship.

Some people like to visit the Empire State Building. It is located on Fifth Avenue at 34th Street. People are amazed when they realize that this world famous landmark was built in the 1930's. Despite recent security scares people are still able to visit the viewing platform on the very top floor and marvel at the panoramic view of New York City.

Another good place to visit is the Rockefeller Centre. It is still one of the best places to go for shopping and entertainment and many visitors still take in a trip round Central Park on a horse drawn carriage. When there they can explore the zoo and sit on a bench and reflect at the tranquillity of the lake sat in amongst this large bustling city.

No trip to New York City is complete without a panoramic boat trip around the harbour and a close up view of the Statue of Liberty. It is certainly no wonder that New York City is referred to as the City that never sleeps.

So for any trip to The Big Apple, make sure that you plan well in advance to sort out the most suitable holiday accommodation, and also so you can fit in all the wonders the city offers.

Missing New York teen's family to return for search
A missing 17-year-old New York girl's family members and friends will return to the Georgetown County area Saturday to search for clues in her disappearance.

New York City Five Star Hotel

New York City, hailed as the city that never sleeps, fondly known as the Big Apple, is home to approximately eight million people and with the population still expected to rise in the years to come. New York City is touted as the center of the world maybe because each part of the globe has left an indelible mark in this place. From food to works of art to culture exhibits to tourist spots, whatever it is you want your senses to take pleasure in, New York City most probably has it.

Hotels: This is one of the common problems that travelers encounter when setting foot on foreign land. In New York City, however, you need not worry that you won't be provided with the kind of services you expect to receive. If you're the artsy type fond of bohemian living then you'll probably love to stay in New York City's Greenwich Village or downtown Soho. If you're a yuppy and you're attached to your PDA learning about the stock market, then you'll feel right at home in New York City's famous Wall Street. If posh places however are what takes your fancy then take a ride to downtown Manhattan and see for yourself what the Hilton or the Four Seasons Hotel has to offer.

Dining : Whether it is sashimi, pesto pasta, kimchi, shawarma or paella that you're looking for, trust me when I say that New York City has everything that your taste buds may want to savor.

Nightlife : The hottest places in the U.S. can no doubt be found in New York City. If you're fond of star-gazing and I'm not talking about those that you can find in the sky, then definitely, New York City is the place to be. Go club hopping and rub elbows with the rich and famous.

Tourist Spots : With so many points of interest to visit in New York City, it's sometimes quite difficult to just know where to start. But of course, we'll try our very best. A visit to New York City wouldn't be complete without touring the following sites:

Empire State Building: Need I explain?

The Statue of Liberty: take a ferry ride to this gigantic statue, a gift to the United States from the French government some centuries ago.

Madam Tussaud's Wax Museum: now, now, now, don't you start believing that what you saw in Paris Hilton's House of Wax is based on a true story. This particular site was even featured in Ripley's because of the uncanny resemblance of its inhabitants.

World Trade Center: Now, I know that technically speaking, this isn't a happy place but it would do all of us good to pay our respects to the victims of the September 11 bombing. This tragedy has at least proved that the people of New York City wouldn't let any terrorist attack faze them into cowering in terror. Hail, hail New York City!

Now, remember that New York City, for all its bright lights, can't be compared to a bed of roses. So take the necessary precautions to avoid unnecessary accidents. It's also easy to get lost in NYC so be sure that you always have a map - and a cellphone preferably - handy, just in case.

Happy sight-seeing!

A five star wedding in New york city?

I have a project to do involving a location of a wedding.

Can anyone help to suggest a 5 star or 4 star hotel in New york that holds weddings and a price to use it (if possible). Im not an expert at this and I've already tried to do my research, i failed miserably. Any links or suggestion would help a lot. Thanks in advance.

The Waldorf, The Pierre Hotel, The Plaza, just about every upscale hotel in Manhattan has facilities and price lists for weddings.

Pricing varies depending on what services you'll need, the date and size of the room which is probably why you couldn't find anything on the web. You have to actually call the in-house events planner to find out. They usually have a brochure they can send or email you so if you don't want to talk to a human being at this point in the planning stage, you can probably email them to get it. Just check their websites.

Basically for a 5 star wedding in Manhattan...the general rule of thumb is "if you have to ask, you can't afford it".

New York Bars

There are many great ways to make money by owning a business. One of the most low maintenance businesses is laundromats. There is very little upkeep in owning a laundromat. As long as the machines are kept in order and the money collected on a regular basis, there is almost no other responsibility for owning the business. The New York area is a great place to open a laundromat because there are so many people crammed into a tiny state. Business for sale in NY is easy to find.

A laundromat for sale in New York can easily be found with a realtor. Commercial realtors are certified in the sale of commercial property for sale in New York. Realtors can be found in several different ways. One way to find realtors is to look up different commercial real estate firms in the area. Many real estate firms have their own websites where they list different properties that they have for sale. It is best to talk to a realtor over the phone or in person to find out if they can help you in your search for a laundromat for sale.

Many people choose to open several different kinds of businesses at once. There are always a large variety of businesses for sale in NYC at one time. Other people prefer to own several different locations of the same kind of business. A laundromat for sale in New York can also be found in many different locations. Whatever form of business you choose, you can be sure that you will find that business for sale in New York City. If New York City is not your style, then there are plenty of other kinds of business for sale in NY the state or in surrounding states as well.

There are other ways to find a laundromat for sale in New York. Another great way to find listings is to look online or in business papers. Most businesses owners who do business in a particular area will also know of businesses for sale nearby. The county usually holds a list of different businesses for sale. Sometimes listings are placed directly on the location where the business is being sold.

Although laundromats usually are not the kind of business that gets foreclosed on, it can still happen. It is a good idea to check with different banks and the country office to see if there is any foreclosure listings for the businesses that you want to buy. Business for sale in Manhattan might be a good place to look because it is a more upscale area. This means that some companies may have to foreclose because they cannot afford to run a business there. A lot of times foreclosed properties will be auctioned off. Auctions are a great place to purchase properties for less than they are worth. This will save a person quite a bit of money in the end. Some foreclosure listings are found online on bank or county websites. Others are only mentioned through word-of-mouth.
